Building a Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone in the Middle East : Global Non-Proliferation Regimes and Regional Experience

This publication, written in English and Arabic, contains an edited collection of papers given at the conference, held in February 2003 in Cairo, organised by the League of Arab States and UNIDIR. The objective of the meeting was to discuss global non-proliferation regimes, regional experiences with establishing nuclear weapons free zones (NWFZs), the role of international organisations and practical options for the creation of a 'weapons of mass destruction' (WMD) free zone in the Middle East.
