This bulletin contains information about pupil-teacher ratios and class sizes in schools in England. The information is derived from the Annual Schools Census which is carried out in January of each year. Statistics are broken down into pupil-teacher ratios by school type; class sizes in primary and secondary school level; class sizes by Key Stage and age group; and infant class sizes for September 1998 to 2002.
