Code of Practice Issued under Section 377 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002

This code of practice governs the exercise of the investigation powers in Chapter 2 of Part 8 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. It is issued by the Home Secretary under section 377 of the Act. It provides guidance on how such powers are to be used in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with regards to confiscation, civil recovery and money laundering investigations. A separate code of practice in relation to Scotland will be issued by the Scottish Executive.
