Desarrollo y Derechos Humanos

Chronic poverty, which is endemic as we head into the 21st century, is a flagrant denial of what the international community once hailed as the basic rights and fundamental freedoms on which our humanity and security must rest. The papers in this collection focus on the relationship between development and rights, including the right to adequate housing, security, safe employment, food and people's genuine involvement in the political process that shapes their lives and life-chances. This book is one of a series of articles which aims to promote debate on themes of current concern.
