Developing European regions?; comparative governance, policy networks and European integration

The study employs a distinctive methodology designed to overcome some of the problems associated with cross-national comparison and studies of European integration. The case studies chosen enable comparison of the impact of EU involvement in policy and associated developments in governance upon federal and unitary systems of governance. A summary section at the end of each case study chapter relates the broader integration hypothesis to the developments outlined in that chapter. Adshead provides a substantive piece of research that supports an original argument.
