The Drager House is built into a hillside in Berkeley, California, and stepsown in section to conform to the changing site condition. Specific elementsuch as staircases, terraces and loggias are used to join the house and site,s are large corner windows, which the architect has used to frame selectediews of trees and sky. It perpetuates what Franklin Israel describes as theradition started in Los Angeles by Frank Lloyd Wright and R.M. Schindler, ofhe mitred glass corner and the "exploded box". This book presents Dragerouse in detail, using original drawings showing the architect's designs inrogress, and newly-commissioned photographs, which are accompanied by manylack and white photographs illustrating earlier designs by Israel.
