Empress of Eternity

Scientists from three different civilizations, separated nearly a million years, investigate a mysterious indestructible canal on Earth, meanwhile a plot is hatched to overthrow the world government of one of the civilizations, using a weapon that can destroy anything--except the canal--and the fates of all three civilizations become intertwined as
