EU Energy Law Volume II; EU Competition Law and Energy Markets

The energy sector is one of the Commission's key areas for competition policy enforcement in the new Commission, as underlined by the new Competition Commissioner, Mrs. Neelie Kroes. It has been announced that DG Competition will be carrying out a sectoral review of competition policy in the energy sector beginning in 2005. This new publication provides an exhaustive analysis of this subject - some 600 pages of analysis and 250 pages of annexes - and represents an essential tool for lawyers and academics as well as for those actively involved in industry. The work is written in clear and simple language and, in addition to detailed chapters specifically covering the application of the competition rules to the energy sector, contains sections introducing the competition rules, making the book accessible to all.
