European Media Law; Collection of Materials 2009-2010

This collection of materials on European and comparative Media Law contains: - an overview with summaries of the most important judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on freedom of expression, media and journalism - a selection of judgments of the ECtHR and of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) in this domain - recommendations, declarations and resolutions of the Council of Europe relating to media and information law and policy - directives of the EU relating to broadcasting and audiovisual media services, Internet and copyright in the information society, as well as a few other EU-instruments of media law and policy, and - two articles, one on the protection of journalistic sources and one on access to information. This collection of materials is the documentation for the course "European Media Law" (LLM, Law Faculty, Ghent University) and "Media Law" (Masters, Law Faculty, Copenhagen University), 2009-2010.
