They have been engaged in a series of studies to identify problem areas that organizations in traditional societies would have to face in the emerging intensely competitive business environment. Based on in-depth interviews with chief executives, their immediate subordinates and select workers in fourteen organizations, the researchers have discussed in this book management styles of family managed businesses, multinationals and public sector enterprises and the strategic choices that they would have to make to prepare their organizations for the new challenges. The researchers have chosen these three categories of organisations which constitute more than ninety per cent of the organizations in the country.
