General Household Survey

The General Household Survey is a continuous survey based on a sample of the general population resident in private households in Great Britain. It is carried out by the Social Survey Division of the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on behalf of a number of government departments. Topics covered, include: family and household information; housing; marriage and cohabitation; occupational and personal pension schemes; drinking; smoking; use of the health services; and mobility difficulties and mobility aids.
