Health Systems Performance Assessment and Improvement in the Region of the Americas

This collection of papers reflects the discussions at a number of meetings held by the Pan American Health Organization to consider approaches to assess the performance of health systems and to identify steps to improve them. Health systems can be defined as those resources whose primary purpose is to improve health, including people and actions.
