The Committee published its report on the Marine Environment on 21 March 2004 and the Government reply was received on 24 May. Usually the reply would be published without comment. In this case the Committee is so disappointed with the reply that it wants the Government to reconsider its response and, within six weeks, provide a more substantive document that sets out a more robust and urgent policy for dealing with the problems face by the marine environment.
