The objective of the Convention on the Future of Europe is to debate the future shape and governance of an enlarged EU and draw up proposals for a new EU constitution. This report considers the draft articles regarding: the principles of democratic equality and participatory democracy; the European Ombudsman; political parties at a European level; transparency in EU institutional proceedings; the protection of personal data; and the status of churches and other philosophical non-confessional organisations.
