International drug policy, status quaestionis; compendium of articles

This compendium contains a selection of articles on several components of the drug problem and the implications hereof on drug policy on the one hand and the influence of drug policy (reform) on these components on the other hand. The article collection is put together to give a timely overview of the debate on the topics involved. Articles are included on the following topics: the history of drug policy, multidisciplinary drug policies and the UN Drug Treaties; European national laws and their current state of refrom; drug policy and health issues; drug policy and poverty issues; drug policy and race issues; drug policy and human rights issues; drug policy and the criminal justice system; drug policy and prisons; drug policy and organised crime; drug policy enforcement; drug policy and the environmental impact in developing countries; reform developments outside of Europe. Furthermore, some media clippings and the public letter to Kofi Annan, in which signatories fromover forty countries, express their concern with the UN drug policy, are added.
