Lady Audley's Secret

Lucy Graham marries Sir Michael Audley and all seems well and good. Shortly afterwards, Sir Michael's nephew, Robert Audley, welcomes an old friend of his, George Talboys. George has returned after 3 years and is anxious to get news of his wife, Helen. But he reads in the newspaper that she has died, and suffers a breakdown.
