Law and development in East and South-East Asia

This book examines what the commercial law systems of East and South East Asian countries have in common. Japan and Singapore are countries that are frequently cited as models for 'development states' in Asia with a strongely paternalistic legal framework. These two countries attract particular attention in this book, and their approaches are compared to development-related business laws in Indonesia, Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
