In post-war Greece shipowners became a myth, dazzling the international jetset and filling the columns of glossy magazines. This book offers some interpretations on their success and the growth of Greek shipping in the second half of the twentieth century. It examines these in the context of the globalization process of the world economy as well as in the dynamism of family firms in international business. This book enhances the knowledge on the fundamental factors of Greek entrepreneurship in family businesses and provides new evidence for the international path of the shipping companies of about 150 Greek families.
