Leading Cases on Cultural Property

The present volume includes ca. 45 judicial decisions concerning the problems of the protection of cultural assets. These decisions are reproduced in their original language (German, English, French, Italian, and Dutch), and supplemented by an English-language summary and appended with publisher's annotations pertaining to selected problem complexes, which contribute to the understanding of the decisions. The decisions encompassing the years 1813 to 2000 pertain to international law, civil law, criminal law from the sphere of cultural asset protection as well as cultural administrative law from the nations Germany, France, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, the United Kingdom and United States of America. In many cases the matter in dispute is portrayed with the rerefence as to where it is exhibited today.
