Learning in Medicine

This book brings together the ideas generated by the conference with the same title held in Oslo in May 1991. Topics include undergraduate and postgraduate medical education as well as patient education, and the emphasis throughout is on developing a learner-centered approach to medical education. The chapters may be read separately or taken together as a handbook of medical education. A synthesis is presented in the final chapter as a Theory of Medical Education which combines education psychology and humanistic theories of learning.
