At the end of the war, Anna, a little girl, had to live with her mother. Her father's mother had taken care of the child almost from birth, but after grandmother was killed, she had to go and live with her mother. Anna's mother never liked her daughter, only tolerated her. The reason: she was a girl. She was not the son her mother had always wanted.
