Local E-Government : A Survey of Local Authorities
Leverbaar
This survey reviews the approaches English local authorities are taking towards implementing e-government, as well as the challenges they face. The report shows that authorities recognise the objectives and potential benefits of e-government, although many are cautious about making radical and costly changes, favouring a more piecemeal approach to implementation. However, local authorities are beginning to see benefits in terms of access to, and take-up of, local information and services, as well as more opportunities for joint and flexible working.
