Marine Cargo Claims is a detailed study of the principal legal issues connected to maritime transport law. The international carriage of goods by sea, as well as the whole context of international trade, has changed considerably since the third edition. - This book studies basic civil law, common law and maritime law principles as applied to marine cargo claims. - It reviews the major principles and rules, providing a true transsystemic recapitulation of the fundamental concepts. - It compares and examines over time the multilateral solutions to marine cargo claims liability issues. - It also examines the past and recent case-law and writings of the most influential legal authors. - It reproduces the most significant legislation. - It includes national summaries of the law on marine cargo claims of some 50 countries, written by legal experts from those jurisdictions. - Please note this is an import item. Price quoted may change due to exchange rate fluctuations. Nota bene: The present two Volumes (Vols. 1 and 2) of Marine Cargo Claims 4th Edition, 2008 are complete in themselves. Nevertheless a third Volume (Vol. 3) is expected to be published by April 30, 2009. That Volume will contain the final text of the UNCITRAL “Draft Convention on the Carriage of Goods [wholly or partly] [by Sea]” (as it is now known). The above Convention will probably be finalized and possibly signed by April 30, 2009. Volume 3 will also contain commentaries by the author and others. Volume 3 will be sold and distributed separately from Volumes 1 and 2.
