One Knight Only

Anne Kendall is a lady's maid who is asked by the League of the Blade (a secret band of warriors who right wrongs) to impersonate a widowed countess on a husband-hunting journey to London. The real countess is heading in secret to London to identify traitors to the king. Anne agrees, with one condition. The League is to hire Sir Philip Clifford as one of her bodyguards, because she believes this will help him secure a highly coveted invitation to join the League. But Philip has plans of his own--to marry into the nobility and finally escape his childhood memories of servitude. On the journey to London, Anne and Philip face the dangers of the road, noblemen vying for the "countessa's" hand, traitors who discover her identity, and the ultimate journey of falling in love.
