Puzzles in Paper

Watermarks in paper have long been recognized as a possible means of dating a book, and of locating the source of the paper used. "The "puzzles" of authentication are covered in the essays in this volume. Particular emphasis is given to the impact of new technologies on the studies of watermarks, and the importance of watermark evidence in musicological interpretation.
