Social Security Fraud Act 2001 : Code of Practice on Obtaining Information

The Social Security Fraud Act 2001 gave powers to the Department of Work and Pensions officers and local authorities to obtain information from listed organisations about their customers. This code of practice governs the use of these powers. It is the revised edition of a version initially published in January 2002. The revision was necessary because of changes to the definitions of some information providers brought about by other legislation.
