Software Defined Radio : Origins, Drivers and International Perspectives

Software radio SWR (or software defined radio, SDR), is a radio, whose channel modulation waveforms are defined in software. As a result, the operation of such a radio can be imperceptibly updated or configured by the service provider, automated system or user in the field for another service or application.
