Stefania Galegati's first Italian solo exhibition will open at the MACRO in Rome, in May, where she will present a project conceived specifically for one of the museum's Panorama rooms. Since making her debut in a group exhibition in Milan in 1994, she has established herself as one of the most promising talents on the contemporary art scene. She was one of the youngest students at the Brera Academy, and was awarded many prizes and chosen to participate in group exhibitions. Her works are extremely sophisticated in terms of idea and visual impact but not high tech or designed as a purified forma of the existing world. What you notice first in her works is this simplicity, roughness sometimes, that put the subject of her creation into a ironic and airy perspective: a sort of ghostly look at our humanity.
