Still Standing

K.J. Carter has been through more than her share of trauma and tragedy, but she has come out the other side better for all of it. Having been through traumas that she thought she might not survive, and even being an early victim of a man who would go on to murder two young people, she is Still Standing. Neglect, stalking, brutality, cancer, and other tragedies have all made her the person she is today. Sometimes, she decided, it takes years to see how things are interconnected, and each struggle may just be a way of preparing you for something else, or guiding you down a different path. Even when it seems like you will never make it through, there are reasons to hold on and keep going. Sometimes you just have to look a little harder to see them.
