This is the 55th edition of the yearbook which draws on a wide range of official and other sources to provide a broad overview of the UK's economic, social and cultural affairs, its physical environment, international relations and systems of government, fully revised to August 2003. Appendices give details of the UK Parliament and devolved administrations, government departments and agencies; significant dates in UK history; obituaries during 2003; abbreviations; bank and public holidays in 2004. The book also includes a number of maps, charts and tables, as well as a number of colour photographs depicting events during 2003.
