Yearbook Plus - International Organizations and Biographies; Multi-language Version

The ninth CD-ROM edition incorporates all 25,979 organization descriptions in English from the 2003-2004 hardcopy version of the "Yearbook of International Organiszations" and an additional 17,371 bodies of secondary interest, as well as updated biographies as published in the "Who's Who in International Organizations (4th edition, 2003). The CD-ROM covers not only names and adresses of organizations, but also names and biographical information of presidents, general secretries, executive directors, chairmen and other officers, activies, history, goals, structure, personnel, finances, technical and regional commissions consultative relationships, memberships by country and publications by title. The user can now explore the complex network of relationships between organizations through a multitude of clickable hyperblinks. The hyperlinks, like those used on the web, allow the user to jump from one organization to another. The organizations descriptions also offer hyperlinks to biographical descriptions in the related biographical database. Besides the usual query template by field, the user can also search by subject, regional group or organizational group. User of the CD-ROM who have browser software and an internet can communicate directly with the organizations described. By clicking on a web address in on organization profile it is possible to go straight to their website. Clicking on an e-mail address allows the user to mail organization immediately. There are nearlly 110,000 active e-mail and web links.
