Introduces rich data sources and discusses new data challenges to the increasing interest in online auctions. There are applications to a wide variety of statistical methods, as well as models to new domain areas. Heavy emphasis is placed on a need for interdisciplinary collaboration. State-of-the-art statistical methodology is employed.
