In presenting this little work to the Public, the author has endeavored to give an answer to questions, which have been constantly asked by visitors to the Fort, concerning its extent, area, armament, and a hundred different points, which we have endeavored to elucidate.We are indebted to several sources for our information, to all of whom we are grateful, but we wish particularly to express our appreciation of the valuable information concerning. The National Soldiers' Home, Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute, and Hampton, gleaned from the Guide Book compiled by G. W.
