Jonathan Jacobs is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a member of the Doctoral Faculties of Philosophy and Criminal Justice at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He works on topics at the intersection of Ethics, Politics and Criminal Justice, and also on issues in medieval moral philosophy and Jewish philosophy. He has been a Visiting Professor or Visiting Scholar at the University of Edinburgh, the University of St.
