Transformations of Pelops
Myths, Monuments, and Cult Reconsidered
Samenvatting
The proposed book presents the Greek hero Pelops from a variety of perspectives which until now have been treated separately. Previous studies have focused either on his depictions in ancient art or on literary evidence featuring Pelops and his descendants. A comprehensive treatment of the hero has yet to appear. The book will bring to a wider audience the conclusions of the author's specialist studies on the relationship of the mythical figure Pelops to the historical Peloponnese. This basic question has not previously been investigated in detail.
