Ben J. Zijl (1948) studied at the Social Academy in Haarlem. He worked in social work for ten years, then for a long period with a missionary organization, and now for several years again in psychosocial care.

He specialized in autism and the treatment of behavioral problems. He trained in sexology and then studied under Dr. Gertjan van Zessen, among others, who is internationally known as an expert in the field of sex addiction.

Ben Zijl works at TAMIM (a practice in the Netherlands for psychosocial care, coaching and training) and specializes in treatment of paraphilias, sexual preoccupations, and sex addiction.

In this booklet he discusses, among other things, the dangers of watching porn and having alternating sexual contacts. He also describes the method he uses with people who are sex addicts: a short-term individual therapy.

The booklet is intended for anyone, young and old, who struggle with porn viewing, sex addiction, and deviant sexual preferences. It is also intended for parents and other educators and counselors. This booklet provides insight into the lives of young people, and the sexual questions and issues they may struggle with.
