Frisse Wind - Impressionisme van het Noorden

Als een frisse wind verspreidt de nieuwe Franse kunststroming van het impressionisme zich over heel Europa. Deze publicatie richt de blik op kunstenaars uit Denemarken, Duitsland en Nederland. Met werken van Anna Ancher, Lovis Corinth, Isaac Israels, Johan Barthold Jongkind, Peder Severin Krøyer, Max Liebermann, Max Slevogt en vele anderen. De selectie van schilderijen, afkomstig uit drie museumverzamelingen, presenteert de stijlvarianten die onder de noemer ‘Impressionisme van het noorden’ vallen.

The new French art movement known as ‘impressionism’ blew through Europe like ‘a breath of fresh air’. This publication focuses on artists from Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands, including important representatives of the movement such as Anna Ancher, Lovis Corinth, Isaac Israels, Johan Barthold Jongkind, Peder Severin Krøyer, Max Liebermann and Max Slevogt. A selection of highlights from the collections of three museums showcases
the individual varieties of ‘Northern Impressionism’.
