Samenvatting
Het laatste decennium is de effectenmarkt sterk veranderd. (Markt)technische innovaties hebben ervoor gezorgd dat overheden en toezichthouders de regels rondom de handel in effecten hebben moeten veranderen. Het eerste deel van dit boek gaat in op de front office van de effectenhandel. Het bespreekt de impact van alternatieve handelssystemen, de regelgeving zoals MiFID en RegNMS, het verschijnsel 'multilateral trading facilities' (MTFs) en de opkomst van 'dark pools'.
De handelspraktijken hebben zich aangepast aan de nieuwe uitdagingen in de markt. De back office echter bleef hierbij achter. De Europese clearing en settlement industrie is al jaren gefragmenteerd. MiFID geeft beurzen de mogelijkheid hun eigen route te kiezen voor clearing en settlement; daardoor is de noodzaak ontstaan om veranderingen aan te brengen binnen de handelsketen. Dit boek bespreekt de concurrentie tussen deze netwerken, grensoverschrijdende 'central securities depositories (CSDs), de vereniging van de markt (Link-Up Markets) en het initiatief van de Europese Centrale Bank: het TARGET 2 Securities (T2S) project.
Het boek is bedoeld voor professionals binnen de bank- en effectenmarkt en wetenschappers die meer kennis willen hebben van de veranderingen in de effectenhandel.
